My Hero Academia confirms new anime starring Eri for August

Thinking the story of U.A. students ended after Deku and his friends graduated? Kohei Horikoshi still has a few tricks up his sleeve. To celebrate the franchise’s tenth anniversary, the official My Hero Academia website has announced a nostalgic bomb: the production of a new original anime titled I Am a Hero Too. This project will land on global streaming platforms on August 3, 2026, giving us the heroism dose needed to save the summer.

A teenager named Eri and the weight of peace

The best part of this premiere is that it directly adapts the canon one-shot originally published by the creator in the fanbook Ultra Age. The plot jumps eight years into the future to follow Eri, who went from being the scared girl rescued by Lemillion to a full-fledged high school student. Far from the brutal villain threats of old, this story shows how the new generation navigates school and daily life in a peaceful society where heroes no longer risk their lives every second.

Boku no Hero Academia Synopsis

In a world where 80% of the global population has developed superpowers known as “Quirks,” society is divided between professional heroes protecting peace and villains using their abilities for evil. Izuku Midoriya, a young man born without any special ability, dreams of becoming the greatest hero, just like his idol All Might. His fate changes drastically when a chance encounter with the Symbol of Peace gives him the opportunity to inherit a legendary power, leading him to enroll in the prestigious U.A. Academy to learn what it truly means to bear the weight of being a hero.

Are you ready to see how much Eri has grown, or are you still not over the main story’s ending with Deku?
