Although he departed from SpikeΒ Chunsoft in 2017 to launch his own game studio, Too Kyo Games, Danganronpa mastermind Kazutaka Kodaka remains deeply connected to the franchise. Not only is he overseeing the forthcoming enhanced remake of 2012βs Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, dubbed βDanganronpa 2Γ2β, but he will also serve as judge for the upcoming official Danganronpa Creative Contest across all four categories.
To celebrate the franchiseβs 15th anniversary, Spike Chunsoft is inviting Danganronpa enthusiasts to submit entries for the Illustration, Cosplay, Crafts, and Coloring divisions of the art competition, which will run from June 1 to August 31 at 11:59 pm JST. While the Illustration and Cosplay divisions are straightforward (participants must submit images or photos of their creations), the Crafts and Coloring divisions require submissions of handmade or 3D craftworks and colored pieces based on provided templates, respectively.
There are no restrictions on the number of entries or categories you may enter, but itβs important to note that submissions containing spoilers for Danganronpa are prohibited. Alongside Kodaka, entries will be evaluated by Danganronpa 2Γ2 producer Shohei Sakakibara and the development team at Spike Chunsoft.

Prize winners will be organized into five tiers. The sole Grand Prize winner in the Illustration division will receive 50,000 yen (approximately $300), a commemorative gift, and a Steam key for Danganronpa 2Γ2 upon its release later this year. Three Grand Prize winners from the Cosplay, Craft, and Coloring divisions will each receive 30,000 JPY ($190 USD), along with a Steam Key and commemorative item.
Runners-up (three from Illustration and one from each remaining division) will be awarded 10,000 JPY ($60 USD) plus a commemorative gift and Steam Key. The User Award, presented to the top online ranking winner, will receive a special commemorative gift. Lastly, three Lucky Prize winners chosen across all divisions will each win a Steam key for posting their entries to X before September 7.
