Even being part of a game’s official cast doesn’t shield you from YouTube surprises. Voice actress Mariko Honda, known for voicing Sandrone in Genshin Impact, got a bitter surprise during a live stream when her channel was hit by a copyright claim that immediately took down her stream.

The incident occurred on September 5 while the actress was sharing her progress on Arlecchino’s legendary mission with over 140,000 subscribers. Without warning, the stream was completely blocked. When she tried to start a second broadcast to continue playing with her audience, the platform’s system shut down her live stream again for the same reason, prompting her to post a message clarifying that her content didn’t violate any rules and that she was investigating the issue.

Surprisingly, the claim didn’t come from HoYoverse, the game’s creator. Site notifications pointed to FUTURE TV Co., Ltd., a Chinese internet TV company, as responsible. This wasn’t an isolated case, as the company’s automated content identification system triggered mass claims affecting multiple creators streaming the game’s cinematic story sequences during those dates.

Luckily, after filing the necessary appeals, the restrictions on the files and monetization were removed in the following days. Honda could resume her regular uploads normally, once again showing how delicate the use of automated algorithms remains on video platforms.
