The Iceblade Sorcerer is set to return to the battlefield. The animated adaptation of The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World (Hyoken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu) has released the main trailer for its anticipated second season, confirming the series will return to screens next October with several surprises in its team and voice cast.

The new promotional clip introduced “Diamond Dust,” the opening theme performed by the musical project Sizuk. Meanwhile, the acclaimed singer and voice actress Maaya Uchida will handle the ending theme with the song “Compression :[“. The most notable change in this installment happens behind the scenes, as studio Zero-G takes over animation from the first season’s creators.

Despite the studio change, Masahiro Takata returns to direct the series, also handling scriptwriting and sound direction. Joining him in writing are Tomoko Shinozuka and Takahito Onishi, while Mariko Kawamoto assumes character design. In casting, the production announced Miyu Kubota as Elisa Griffith, replacing Nana Harumura, who had to leave acting early this year due to health issues. The cast also welcomes Hana Hishikawa as Olivia Arnold, alongside returning stars like Junya Enoki as Ray White, joined by Soichiro Hoshi, Haruka Shiraishi, Ryohei Kimura, Aoi Koga, and Konomi Kohara.

Originating as a light novel series by Nana Mikoshiba with illustrations by Riko Korie, the work debuted on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in October 2019 before transitioning to print in July 2020. The franchise featured a manga adaptation by Norihito Sasaki that concluded early in 2024, followed by a direct sequel published in May this year.

The story follows Ray White, an ordinary and somewhat clumsy young man who enters the prestigious Arnold Magic Academy. Though his peers underestimate him, he secretly hides the identity of the legendary Iceblade Sorcerer, one of the world’s most powerful magicians. After overcoming initial school challenges, the second season will take Ray beyond the academy’s walls to face large-scale magical conflicts with three-member teams as new threats emerge.
