Few comedies capture the sheer madness of university life like this franchise, where diving is often just an excuse to end up naked and with an alcoholic coma on the beach. The production committee officially announced this Wednesday the release of its third promotional video, confirming that the third season will premiere on July 6. For this new season, the madness leaves Japanese shores for the first time, moving the setting directly to the paradisiacal beaches of Palau. The video preview includes a snippet of “Natsuko”, the opening performed by the band FUNKY MONKEY BABY’S, and reveals that the ending will be titled “Hadaka no Mermaid” (Naked Mermaid), performed by the idol group MAMESHiBA NO TAiGUN under the peculiar production of comedian and actor Kuro-chan.

Grand Blue is a manga by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka published in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine since April 2014. The first anime season premiered in July 2018, and the second concluded in September 2025. The story follows Iori Kitahara, who moves to a coastal city for university expecting romantic adventures and a dream student life.
