The second season of Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms reveals its release date
Studio Synergy SP and director Yoshiaki Okumura will continue this romantic comedy in 2027.
The production committee finally confirmed the release date for Mona Kawai’s ongoing romantic struggles. Through a short promotional video, the animated adaptation of Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms (Kuroiwa Medaka ni Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsujinai) officially announced that its second season will premiere on Japanese television in January 2027. This quick turnaround follows the first season’s debut in early 2025, ensuring fans won’t miss out on this unique dynamic of rejections.
Studio Synergy SP is back to continue this battle for male attention. Director Yoshiaki Okumura remains in charge, but the writing team has changed: Yoriko Tomita will handle the scripts, replacing Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. Visually and sonically, the formula stays consistent with Mayumi Watanabe returning for character design and Akiyuki Tateyama composing the soundtrack for the protagonist’s frustrations.
Voice Cast
- Ryota Iwasaki (Inasa Yoarashi in My Hero Academia) as Medaka Kuroiwa.
- Yu Serizawa (Yumemi Yumemite in Kakegurui) as Mona Kawai.
A Romance Born in Kodansha Magazines
This hormonal tug-of-war and extreme stoicism originated from mangaka Ran Kuze. The story first appeared as a one-shot in December 2020 in Weekly Shonen Magazine, and due to its success, publisher Kodansha turned it into a regular series in May 2021. The manga has since accumulated 24 compiled volumes by May 2026, captivating readers with its unusual tension between a girl obsessed with being the center of attention and a temple-raised student who made a vow to avoid women.
Will Mona finally break this aspiring monk’s vow of chastity, or will we get another twelve episodes of failed attempts?
