Prepare your weapons and raise a prayer (or curse) to the Being X! After a long wait since its original announcement in June 2021, the highly anticipated second season of Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki II) is about to unleash war again. The second trailer for Saga of Tanya the Evil II arrived confirming the season’s opening and adding a detail no one expected from the ending: Aoi Yuki, Tanya’s voice, performs “Weiter! Weiter!” as Tanya Degurechaff herself. The anime premieres in July 2026.

The opening “Why? RED induction” by MYTH&ROID had already been announced, and the new trailer presents it alongside the ending performed in Tanya’s role. The second trailer also reveals that each episode will be accompanied by a mini-anime titled “Yojo Shenki 2”, airing immediately after each main episode, featuring members of the Salamander Kampfgruppe and new additions to the group. A new cast member was also revealed: Eiji Hanawa as Colonel Virginio Calandro.

The second season’s direction is handled by Takayuki Yamamoto at Studio NuT, taking over from the first season’s director. Kenta Ihara returns for the scripts, and Yuji Hosogoe continues as character designer and chief animation director.

Saga of Tanya the Evil (Yojo Senki) is a light novel by Carlo Zen that began publication in 2013 and has fourteen volumes. The manga adaptation by Chika Tojo has over thirty-five volumes. The story follows Tanya Degurechaff, a girl housing the mind of a ruthless former Japanese office worker reincarnated in a war-torn world. Known as the Devil of the Rhine, she fights as one of the Empire’s top soldiers while doing whatever it takes to survive. The first season aired in January 2017, followed by a theatrical film in February 2019.
