Japanese indie creator YOKUNIKU has made available a complimentary Steam demo for their forthcoming supernatural mystery visual novel, Angelic Agency: Soul Salvation Unit.
The narrative centers on officer Tsujitsuma, who serves at the namesake Angelic Agency, delving into so-called “Ghosturbance Cases” – occurrences linked to ghosts and other paranormal events that defy human explanation. When Tsujitsuma is tasked with examining a particular murder case, the plot takes an unforeseen twist.

As Tsujitsuma, players will navigate mysteries through three distinct phases: the Conversation Segment, Deduction Segment, and Salvation Segment. During the Conversation Segment, you’ll listen to character accounts and gather clues and evidence via point-and-click mechanics. In the Deduction Segment, you’ll synthesize the collected proof and testimonies to uncover the concealed truth. Tsujitsuma possesses the ability to perceive the “memories” of the deceased, making exploration of their past wounds essential to unraveling the enigmas behind the supernatural happenings. Lastly, in the Salvation Segment, players must contemplate the entire incident and expose the perpetrator.

The recently launched demo finds Tsujitsuma and his “buddy cop” partner Damian visiting an arcade to amass evidence concerning a murder case where the victim vanished inexplicably. According to local folklore, a “cursed” photo booth in the arcade causes anyone who uses it to disappear. Although the demo only encompasses the initial portion of the first episode, the complete game is structured into four episodes, each featuring an independent narrative. As noted on its Steam Store listing, the game also incorporates multiple endings contingent on player decisions.

Angelic Agency: Soul Salvation Unit is currently in development for Steam. A free demo is now available.
