Kotobukiya’s popular articulated anime figures are finally set to make their definitive leap to the screen. The renowned mecha musume franchise, Arcanadea, unveiled its first trailer, a promotional image, and the production team for its animated adaptation, confirming a January 2027 premiere.

The story is set in a near future where humanity experienced a massive technological leap after Eden Industries discovered Arcana particles. This led to the creation of Eden, the planet’s largest VR server, where players can immerse themselves in the MMORPG experience called ARCANADEA. However, an unexpected explosion during routine maintenance at the company’s facilities alters the world, causing extreme climate phenomena, communication failures, mysterious disappearances, and granting some people superhuman physical abilities.

The project is produced by Yokohama Animation Lab under the direction of Keiichiro Kawaguchi. Atsuhiro Tomioka oversees the scripts, while Kumoha Arakawa adapts the original character designs by artist necömi. The soundtrack is composed by Yuki Hayashi and Yuki Furuhashi, promising epic musical moments in the anime industry.
