Koyuki Hikawa’s emotional wall is about to face its toughest test. The official website for the animated adaptation of the manga The Ramparts of Ice (Koori no Jouheki) revealed a new trailer and promotional image for its second season, confirming that new episodes will arrive worldwide via Netflix on October 1, 2026.

The new trailer, already available with Spanish subtitles on the platform, delves into the complex interactions between Koyuki Hikawa and Minato Amamiya, joined by popular Miki and relaxed Yota. The story will continue exploring the personal barriers of our protagonist and how these four students navigate maturity, misunderstandings, and the true feelings of youth.
In the music department, the series will again shine with the participation of major Japanese bands. Novelbright will perform the opening theme titled “Tomei,” while the ending theme, “Sakasama,” will be handled by the talented group Polkadot Stingray.
The team behind the project
The animation production will continue under Studio KAI, again with Mankyu directing. Script supervision and writing remain under Yasuhiro Nakanishi, while character design is by Miki Ogino. The soundtrack will be composed by Kanade Sakuma and Natsumi Tabuchi, ensuring an emotional backdrop for each dramatic scene.

About The Ramparts of Ice
Written and illustrated by Kocha Agasawa (also known for creating the acclaimed manga You and I Are Polar Opposites), the work originally began as a webtoon published from January 2020 to April 2022. Later, publisher Shueisha compiled the story into physical format, reaching its final fourteenth volume in February 2025. Following the airing of its first season in spring, this sequel is set to adapt the emotional conclusion of one of the most honest and mature romantic stories in recent years.
With Koyuki and Minato returning to the screen this October, do you think this second season will finally break down Koyuki’s walls and give us the ending we’ve all been waiting for?
