Alliance Arts has revealed that its upcoming Russian Roulette-inspired survival game, Drunken Goddess Reflux, is slated for a December 8 release. A Steam Next Fest demo offering 20 minutes of gameplay will be accessible starting October 19.
Created by Japanese studio Alliance Arts and directed by Fuyuki Hayashi (known for works such as Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis and Kemono Tea Time), Drunken Goddess Reflux pits players against Femme Soule, the demon of alcohol, in a Russian Roulette drinking game. Set in Hell’s Pandemonium bar, your goal is to make Femme vomit her soul before you do.
Femme isn’t one to back down from a challenge. As Hell’s resident alcoholic and the demon of alcohol, she’s fiercely obsessed with you. Her obsession is so intense that she promises to grant you immortality with Hell’s liquor if you lose the drinking game.
Each round involves selecting a shot glass from a variety of similar-looking drinks with varying proofs. Femme then picks from the remaining options. While stronger spirits lead to quicker intoxication, Drunken Goddess Reflux introduces unique mechanics to keep things interesting. For instance, stabbing your own hand can reduce your intoxication by three points. You can also introduce rule changes, such as adding an ultra-potent drink called Spiritum to the selection.

Between drinking rounds, players can explore a 3D rendition of the Pandemonium bar. Here, you’ll uncover hidden secrets, interact with other characters, and make choices that influence your experience. With seven possible endings, Drunken Goddess Reflux encourages multiple playthroughs to discover all the hellish bar has to offer.
Drunken Goddess Reflux is scheduled to launch on Windows (Steam) on December 8. A free demo will be available starting October 19.
