Japanese developer Clearrave has made available a Steam demo for its forthcoming occult horror visual novel Resequence: The Orchard. The narrative unfolds through multiple character perspectives, featuring artwork by fracoco and a storyline crafted by Re,AER, the mind behind Magical Girl Witch Trials. Although the demo is currently offered only in Japanese, the team is contemplating the addition of more language options in the full version.

Following the baffling vanishing of his wife a decade prior, psychiatrist Kisuke Saito accepts a position as a school counselor. Through his counseling work, Saito discovers that the students are encountering inexplicable occurrences tied to their past traumas. As he delves deeper into their lives, Saito begins to unravel the enigmas behind these phenomena and the fate of his missing wife.
While the central focus is on Kisuke, more than five characters—including his anime enthusiast coworker Aislinn Conlin and various students—contribute to the plot. The game offers multiple narrative paths and varied conclusions based on player choices. The narrative addresses somber themes, with warnings for content depicting suicide, mentally taxing scenes, violence, injury, and mortality (notably, there is no graphic blood content).

The newly launched demo spans approximately one hour and features two story segments. “Record of Circumstances Leading to Working As a Student Counselor” follows Kisuke Saito, whereas “Counselling: Session 1” centers on the shy second-year student Sogo Soyogi.
Resequence: The Orchard is slated for a 2026 release on Windows (Steam). The Japanese demo is now accessible for download.
