Several factors make Jaadugar stand out before its premiere: it’s directed by Naoko Yamada, produced by Science SARU, selected for competition at Annecy, and features a Persian woman with advanced medical and scientific knowledge navigating 13th-century Mongol politics. Now, it adds the ending theme: “Hoshi” (Star), performed by Queen Bee, revealed in a new trailer with a release date of July 4, 2026.

The opening theme “Stella” is by SEKAI NO OWARI. Before its official premiere, the anime debuted its first three episodes worldwide on June 13 and was selected in the TV Films category at the 2026 Annecy Animation Festival. Its U.S. premiere is scheduled for July 3 at Anime Expo, with director Naoko Yamada and director Abel Góngora in attendance.

Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia (Tenmaku no Jadugar) is the anime adaptation of A Witch’s Life in Mongol by Tomato Soup, published on Akita Shoten’s Souffle website since September 2021 and in Mystery Bonita magazine since March 2025. The story follows Fatima, a Persian woman with advanced medical and scientific knowledge living under the protection of Toregene, the sixth wife of Ogedei, the second Great Khan of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. The manga topped the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023 ranking for female readers and was nominated for the Manga Taisho Award in 2023 and 2024.
