There are series that have been asked for years “when is the anime coming?” Overgeared was one of them. The popular webtoon and web novel has officially confirmed it will get an animated adaptation, with a premiere scheduled for October 2026. REDICE Studio revealed the animated adaptation of the popular webtoon will be called Tempal ~Item no Chikara~. A promotional teaser, the first visual of the project, and that production will be handled by J.C.Staff were also shared.

Ayako Kono will be at the helm of direction, known for handling high-octane fantasy: she directed the two films of Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive-, making her a fitting choice considering Overgeared‘s VRMMO story DNA. Scripts are by Kenta Ihara, known for Saga of Tanya the Evil and Uncle from Another World. Character design is also by Kenta Ihara (a different person), previously in charge of Demon Lord 2099. Music is composed by Yoshiaki Fujisawa, with Pony Canyon handling music production, and EGG FIRM as executive producer.

• Asami Seto as Yura. (The iconic Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen and Mai Sakurajima in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai).

About Overgeared

Overgeared is a webtoon by REDICE Studio based on the web novel by Park Saenal, with script by Lee Dong-Wook and illustrations by Team Argo. The story follows Youngwoo Shin, a man barely surviving real-life debts with odd jobs and already written off by his family. Inside the VRMMO Satisfy, his alter ego Grid also starts out as a nobody: mediocre, unlucky, and unremarkable. Everything changes when he finds a tome with the lost knowledge of a legendary blacksmith. The catch is using it resets all his levels. Forced to start from zero, Grid discovers that if he can’t win with skill, he can equip himself with items so powerful skill no longer matters. Hence the title, and his massive readership.
