Being born into the weakest class in a world of swords and magic is, in theory, a sentence. Reaching level 999 from that class is something else entirely. The Villager of Level 999 has just released its main trailer confirming its premiere on July 1, and the video reveals the season’s ending along with the first look at the previously announced opening.

The ending is called “HP.” and is performed by Yukimura. The opening “Not a Hero” is by Nakuru Aitsuki and Itsuki Natsume, whose voices can be heard in the trailer alongside the first scenes of Earthqualia, where each person is born assigned to a class that defines their life. The trailer presents the situation of Koji Kagami and his encounter with Alice, the daughter of the demon lord, which is the starting point of the entire story.

Alongside the anime, a Blu-ray Box has also been announced for October 28, which will include an exclusive novel written by the author herself, Koneko Hoshitsuki.

About The Villager of Level 999

The Villager of Level 999 (Level 999 no Murabito) is a light novel by Koneko Hoshitsuki with illustrations by fuumi that was originally serialized on Shosetsuka ni Naro between July and December 2018. Kadokawa published the first print volume in May 2016 and the final eighth volume in January 2019. The manga adaptation, drawn by Kenichi Iwamoto, runs in Kadokawa’s Comp Ace magazine since May 2017 and is now on its twenty-first volume. The story takes place in Earthqualia, a world where each person is born into a predetermined class. Koji Kagami was born into the “villager” class, the weakest in the system, but somehow reached level 999, far beyond what that class should allow. After a chance encounter with Alice, the daughter of the demon lord, Koji sets out to find a way for humans and demons to coexist in a world full of conflict and prejudice.
