According to TV Asahi, Kazuki Atsumi, a 31-year-old Japanese voice actor, has been taken into custody on suspicion of raping a minor. This information surfaced a week following Atsumi’s agency, Mausu Promotion, revealing its decision to end his contract due to a “serious violation” and removing all references to the actor from its official site.
Atsumi is currently under investigation for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in May of this year at a hotel in Tokyo, Japan. He allegedly connected with the victim two years earlier, when he was employed as a staff member at a temporary child welfare center she had been placed in. As reported by TBS NEWS Dig, Atsumi has confessed to the allegations, as well as to repeating the act “about 30 times” while knowing the victim was under 16, the legal age of consent in Japan.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, responsible for the child welfare center where Atsumi worked, stated that it has “explained the situation and apologized to the children and their guardians,” and intends to examine if any other children at the facility around the time of the incident were affected.
Atsumi was active as a voice actor since April 2025, and is credited on minor parts in My Dress-Up Darling and Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider.
